ZO6 LOWER REMOVABLE LICENSE PLATE BRACKET
Thank-you for the purchase of our new Z06 LOWER REMOVABLE LICENSE PLATE BRACKET product. When installed correctly this product will reposition your front license plate to a more suitable location. The Best part is that it looks great!
TOOLS AND ADDITIONAL ITEMS REQUIRED
1) Socket set and wrenches
INSTALLATION TIME – 20 minutes
Before you begin, insure that you have the right kit for your car.
Z06 REMOVABLE FRONT LICENSE BRACKET KIT (Matte Black) - 8000Z STEP # 1: Preparation
CAUTION !
Before you begin, it is suggested that you use make a grove in the cups. This can be done with a standard Dremel type grinding tool. This will allow you to remove the magnet using a small screwdriver. Without the grove, it will be next to impossible to remove the magnet. You can use a grind tool. We also suggest that you paint the cup with a matte black finish.
The new Z06 front license plate holder bracket allows you to position your license plate higher or lower according to you preference. Position and attach the 6 rubber washers, ( 3 per side) to the magnet cup using the supplied bolts. Do not fully tighten the bolt at this time. (DO NOT INSERT THE MAGNETS INTO THE CUPS AT THIS TIME!)
Decide the position of the license plate, remove the double sided tape cover on the plate bracket and position the plate holder. Attach it using the 2 bolts and nuts. NOTE : USE LOCK TIGHT OR THE EQUIVALENT ON THE BOLTS TO PREVENT THEM FROM COMING LOOSE !
STEP# 2 INSTALLATION
Safely raise the car and secure it on jack stands.
From under the car remove the 3 bolts holding the tar paper air deflector. This is necessary to gain access to the inner bolts. We suggest that you replace the paper GM piece with the C6 & Z06 LOWER AIR DAM INTAKE EURO GRILLE KIT when re-installing.
From under the car reach in and remove the 2 cradle bolts. Remove the center push pin that holds the plastic grille to the cradle
Remove the double sided tape cover on the inner bracket and position the inner cradle bracket Insure that the bracket feet are slanting back. Insert the 2 supplied screws and nuts. NOTE : USE LOCK TIGHT OR THE EQUIVALENT ON THE BOLTS TO PREVENT THEM FROM COMING LOOSE !
Insert the assembled inner cradle bracket and re-install the 2 removed screws and center push pin Insure that the inner cradle bracket is as close to the plastic grille as possible. (some bending of the bracket may be required) NOTE : USE LOCK TIGHT OR THE EQUIVALENT ON THE BOLTS TO PREVENT THEM FROM COMING LOOSE !
Insert the assembled plate bracket to to the plastic front grille. Insure that the cups make contact with the inner cradle bracket. Adjust the cup position to insure that they freely go through the plastic mesh. Remove the plate bracket and fully tighten the mounting nuts. NOTE : USE LOCK TIGHT OR THE EQUIVALENT ON THE BOLTS TO PREVENT THEM FROM COMING LOOSE ! Insert the magnets into the cups.
Reinstall the 3 bolts holding the tar paper air deflector. For additional cooling, you may wish to install the Stainless Steel round hole pattern C6 & Z06 LOWER AIR DAM INTAKE EURO GRILLE KIT instead of the restrictive original GM paper.

CARE OF THE Z06 LOWER REMOVABLE LICENSE PLATE HOLDER KIT PRODUCT
The product is designed to last the entire life of your car under normal conditions. The product will resist heat, cold, rain and wind. Although this product is durable, it will not survive a major curb impact or a front-end collision. This product should be removed every time you leave your vehicle unattended to avoid theft. Owners should remove the plate holder if they intend to track race.
