TOOLS AND ADDITIONAL ITEMS REQUIRED
1) Socket set and wrenches 2) Screwdriver (Philips) 3) Lock tight
INSTALLATION TIME – 30 Minutes
Before you begin, insure that you have the right kit for your car.
STEP # 1: Preparation
The plastic GM grille DOES NOT NEED TO BE REMOVED !
Raise the front of the car and securely support it with jack stands or use car ramps.
Insure you have all the included hardware.
Install the two brackets using the small bolts and nuts, on the bottom corners of the grille. It is recommended that you use lock tight or equivalent on the small bolts to insure they remain secure.
Remove the 5 bolts that hold the plastic GM grille in place (located at the lower section of the grille)
Either through the plastic grille or from underneath the car via the 2nd opening, position the grilles behind the plastic grille as follows.
Insure that the two round hole brackets align with the center hole (were bolt was removed) Also insure that the grille is in line with the top of the GM plastic grille.
From the bottom air opening, insert the new screws, through the grille until they line up with the holes in the plastic grille ( the same place were you removed the bolts ) Use a small ratchet, socket and an extension . ( DO NOT FULLY TIGHTEN THE SCREWS AT THIS TIME)
From the back of the grille, insert the tie straps as follows. Insure that the head of the tie strap is on the inside of the grille.
Carefully tighten the zip straps so that the new grille is snug against the plastic GM grille. (Do not over tighten) Tighten up the 5 screws that you installed earlier.
