INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Thank-you for the purchase of our new C-4 GRILLE KIT product. When installed correctly this product will keep your radiator and condenser protected for the life of your car. It will also increase air capacity on 84 to 90 C-4’s. The Best part is that it looks great!

Please follow the installation and care instructions exactly to insure you get the maximum usage and benefits from the C-4 GRILL KIT Product.

TOOLS AND ADDITIONAL ITEMS REQUIRED

1) Tin snips (cutting is not recommended)

2) Drill and drill bit (required only if your car is equipped with a deflector)

3) Socket set and wrenches

4) Jack stands

5) Screwdriver (flat head)

6) Lock tight (coat screws for extra hold)

INSTALLATION TIME - 1 hour

Before you begin, insure that you have the right kit for your car. (and color ordered)

STEP # 1 : Preparation

We have a majority of C-4’s have been the victim of curb damage and are missing certain cooling intake parts or spoilers. Other C-4’s have different size bolts, nuts and screws holding everything together. We must now examine your C-4 and prep it for the install.

Inspect the spoiler and insure that it has not sustained curb damage and that it is intact. If it has been damaged, repair or replace the necessary components. On all 84 to 90 C-4’s the air deflector and brackets must be removed. The C-4 GRILLE KIT will now assume the task of deflecting the air. Further more, removing the original air deflector and hardware allows more air to flow into the cooling intake section.

Raise car on jack stands allowing you access to the cooling area

The air deflector must be removed

Using a socket / wrench remove the following bolts.

The air deflector and bracket have been removed. Now remove the remaining bracket.

Using the drill and appropriate drill bit (size may vary per car) drill out the rivet and remove the bracket.

Once this is done installation can begin.

Remove only the outer spoiler bolt from each side and discard it. (New hardware is included in the kit)

Temporality place the Grille into position so that the bottom covers overtop of the two spoiler bolt holes. (bolts removed) Let the grill rest at an approximate 30 degree angle and note position of the two previously removed spoiler bolt holes. ( NOTE: CLIPS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THE C4 ROUND HOLE STAINLESS STEEL GRILLE KIT. THE SUPPLIED SCREWS MOUNT DIRECTLY TO THE HOLES IN THE GRILLE)

If you have chosen to install the C4 Emblem, mount it to the grille kit before you make the final installation of the Grille.

With the Grille in place temporality, note the position of the top left, middle and right openings in the frame, located just behind the bumper.

Using the supplied zip straps, thread the strap through the Grille’s mesh and rap it around the frame hole

(Center looks like a triangle, left and right look like a wedge) This is tricky and you may need to move the Grille to do so. Do not fully tighten the zip strap! You must leave enough play!

Measure about 2 inches from the center hole and drill a hole in the center fan shroud. This step must be complete to secure the middle of the grille to the center section of the spoiler. You will not need the center support bracket.

Insert the supplied screws via the bottom of spoiler hole and newly drilled center hole. ( Left, Center and Right) Using a socket, tighten the screws.

Once the screws are in-place, tighten up the zip straps and use a set of cutters to remove the excess.

CARE OF THE C-4 GRILLE KIT PRODUCT

The product is designed to last the entire life of your car under normal conditions The product will resist heat, cold, rain, wind, and impacts. Although this product is durable, it will not survive a major curb impact or a front end collision.

Your C-4 GRILLE KIT has heat resistant coating and may be cleaned using normal car wash soap, but wipe carefully not aggressively. Chrome plated kits may use chrome cleaner.

Do not use wax, silicone shining products, or products containing ammonia.
