C6 EURO GRILLE EXTREME KIT  INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Thank-you for the purchase of our new C6 EURO GRILLE EXTREME product. When installed correctly this product will keep your radiator and condenser protected for the life of your car. The Best part is that it looks great!

The new EURO GRILLE EXTREME KIT  is designed to be installed behind the original plastic.

Please follow the installation and care instructions exactly to insure you get the maximum usage and benefits from the C6 GRILLE KIT Product.

TOOLS AND ADDITIONAL ITEMS REQUIRED

1)       Drill and drill bit

2)       Socket set and wrenches

3)       Screwdriver (flat head)

4)       Jacks

INSTALLATION TIME – 1 to 2 hours

Before you begin, insure that you have the right kit for your car.

There are several New GM clips that need to be removed. Using a flat head screwdriver, gently raise the head of the clip. Once the head of the clip is raised (releasing the lock), remove the clip. (See diagram below)

STEP # 1:  Preparation

(NECESSARY) The plastic GM grille can be removed using these steps.

Raise the front of the car and securely support it with jack stands.

Remove the left and right lower brake duct panel ( Fig #2)  This will give you access to the inner attaching hardware.

Remove left and right brake ducting (turn and remove)

Remove the drivers side lower front light (3 bolts)

With the brake duct off, remove the 4 push clips holding the plastic GM grille (clips are inside the bottom air opening as well) (Clip removing tool would be help full here)

Remove the 3 bolts on the bottom of the front fascia (#9 in Fig 7 diagram)

Remove the 5 horizontal bolts holding the plastic GM grille to the bumper (#4 in Fig 7 diagram)

Remove the 5 vertical bolts holding the plastic GM grille to the bumper  (#3 in Fig 7 diagram)

Once you have removed the necessary attaching hardware and the plastic GM grille is loose, place towels along the front for the car, to protect the pant while you remove the grille. ( Fig #8)

remove the front grille from the car through the driver’s side brake duct space.

Caution : Use care not to disrupt the wiring in the brake duct area

Note front bumper does not need to be removed!

With the front grille removed, drill 3 holes using a drill bit the same size as the supplied screws. (On the top of the middle and two end section of the vertical fins) Insure that the 3 screws can move freely once inside the drilled hole.

Insert the metal C6 grille on the inside of the plastic grill, insuring that it is centered. Insure that the tabs are level with the plastic bumper tabs on the GM plastic grille. Also insure that the lower middle metal tab is centered with the lower plastic grille bolt hole.

Secure the C6 SS Grille with the 3 screws provided. Do not over tighten, but make sure screws are secure.To insure correct angle fit, move the middle up and the sides down if necessary until grille is in correct position.

Insert the original 5 screws into the lower part of the grille ( This must be done before finished grille into the car!)

Step # 3 Reinstalling the Grille

Carefully insert the grille back into the car, the same way you removed it.

Use a string or wire to hold back the plastic cradle while you tighten the  two outer screws (wrench or small socket is best here)

From underneath the car  tighten the  remaining replacement screws through the SS Grille ( You should have all ready tightened the two otter screws ( Do not over tighten but make sure screws are secure)

Replace the plastic fasteners (left and right sides)

Replace all removed hardware

Re-assemble the lower brake duct panels and inner fender panels.
